Our communities protect us
when we do not feel protected from our communities, we look for the person or people who will protect us the most, and if we keep hearing that there are many people out there, causing us harm or going to hurt us or commit crimes or violate us in anyway we are going to listen to the person who sounds the most promising and keeping those threats at Bay, Even if those threats are made up, and we cannot understand that they’re made up. We just know that the other people around us believe the same person or people, and that makes us feel safer, knowing that we have a common enemy to combat and that we will protect ourselves from that enemy.
It is not a question of knowing the facts. It’s a question of security and feeling secure, and when our government does not make us feel secure, we buy and all sorts of stuff. It is also how we end up taking sides with the people who we feel will create the most security for us. It is not as simple as this it could be other feelings and just feeling secure, but this is the gist. Our us and them mentality stems from the long line of history and our DNA is made up of it.
We spent too much time, trying to argue with people about how they are wrong or how stupid they are when maybe the better way of looking at it is how protected they feel and what we can do to help protect them too, but by us judging them or calling them out or making them feel more horrible that won’t necessarily help. There are times though that when they are judging or harming other people that something else has to be done
We need to continue creating a society where all sides feel safe and what has happened is the more divisive we’ve become the more unsafe we feel around the other people, and this is designed to create more energy, more chaos, more profit, more extremes in every scenario, unless you are on the losing side. This is what our society has become the winners, reap everything and the losers are stuck with the dregs.
Again, much more complicated than this, Most of the people stuck in this mess have a lot of goodness in them. They want to do the right thing and this complicates the scenario. And this is what life is a complicated mess and it does not need to be designed to create an ultra right or left. I think all of us want the same. Some of us want to take more because we are scared to lose everything. There has to be a better way for all of us to make it in this world. The losers are always the individuals who are impoverished who do not have as much of a say in a society that listens to money.
